The ‘zero defect , zero effect’ (ZED) scheme was launched in October 2016. It is aimed to create a spirit of competition among enterprises for producing top quality products, as rated SMEs will get better business opportunities. The scheme plans to assist and rate 22,000 MSMEs on voluntary basis.  

No details have been provided regarding availability of technological resources, institutional architecture, financial resources required or the parameters fixed for selection of the intended beneficiaries.

The official website doesn’t display any information regarding trainings conducted so far, or any information about how many certified MSMEs are there.

Since no information has been provided to analyse the performance, this promise has been given the status of “Inadequate Progress”.
