Set up a National Commission on Education to recommend New Education Policy (NEP)

Broken

No such commission has been set up by the BJP government. A Drafting Committee led by T.S.R. Subramanian was set up to prepare a draft NEP, however, the policy was rejected by the BJP government. Thereafter, another committee under the chairpersonship of K. Kasturirangan was set up in June 2017. The Committee was expected to submit its report by December 2017. However, despite several extensions the nation still does not have New Education Policy. The Minister for Human Resources and Development Prakash Javdekar himself admitted that the policy is still in drafted stage.

Since the BJP Government has failed to give this country the New Education Policy, the promise is considered “Broken”. However, if before the elections, the Government does notify the policy, it will reclassified as “Fulfilled”.
